TUTORIAL

This small tutorial will show you how to create in under 3 minutes your own website with Stormy Website Builder.

THE TEMPLATE FILE

The program will search for a file called '#template.htm' in web site's root folder. It will create a copy of the template file for each article and insert the article in it.
The template file must contain the '#Article body#' marker at the place where you want to insert your articles.

At the moment the template provided with this program sucks. You are welcome to submit your own template. You can insert a link to your web site at the bottom of the template (good for SEO).

CATEGORIES

A category is collection of similar articles. For each category the program will automatically generate a top menu button.

ARTICLES

The central item in a Stormy website is the article which basically is a webpage. Each article is assigned to a category.

The program will warn you if you try to delete an article that is linked by other articles. This way you cannot create by accident the dreadful 'broken links'.

Resources

Anything (ZIP, DOC, PDF, JPG, PNG, GIF) that is not an article (web page) is a 'resources'. Use the 'Resources' panel to manage (add/remove) resources.

The program will warn you if you try to delete a resource that is linked by other articles. This way you cannot create by accident the dreadful 'broken links'.

THE MAIN MENU

The program automatically generates menus based on the categories you defined. Each category will have a corresponding item in the MainMenu. Articles will be automatically added as sub-items in their corresponding menu/category.

A top menu button is created for each category. Then inside of each category/top button, sub-menus are automatically generated for each article.

THE PROJECT FILE

The project is saved (in application's folder, as 'YourChousenName.thunder') when you close the program and loaded automatically when you start the program.
For the moment you can only have one active project! If you want more than one project, start a new project in a different folder (copy there the template web site and the application).
