Let us us suppose you have a document ('bookmarks.html') with over 3000 lines like this:

www.soft.tahionic.com - is a great web site where you can find good free software
http://www.google.com - is the best search engine ever!
this is also a good site: www. google.com
...more lines here
www.microsoft.com - is a weird site where you will have to pay a lot of money for almost everything
www.gmail.com/email/personal.html - they offer free email accounts. 1GB storage space!!!
http://www.google.com - hmm... this is repeating
... etc

First you will have to save your HTML document as TXT ('bookmarks.html'  ->  'bookmarks.txt'). Then load this text file in our software.
Press 'START' to process/filter the document.
The result will look like this:

            www.soft.tahionic.com
            http://www.google.com
            www.google.com
            www.microsoft.com
            www.gmail.com/email/personal.html
            http://www.google.com

If you have duplicate lines (like this one: http://www.google.com), you can instruct the program to also remove the duplicate lines.
